About Kabalikat Para Sa Maunlad Na Buhay, Inc. (KMBI)
Kabalikat Para Sa Maunlad Na Buhay, Inc. or better known as KMBI is a microfinance non-government organization. It focuses on helping underprivileged Filipino women micro-entrepreneurs access loans, insurance, and capital build-up. It now serves more than 160,000 women all over the country with its 64 branches and 1,200 staff.
Modernizing their payment solutions for their partners was a goal set by KMBI to solve their issues of late payments. KMBI recently proved that the root cause of late payments was due to traditional and outdated ways of payment which is their usual process at the main branch, or the need to go to a KMBI-partnered bank.
Paying back loans and capital build-ups challenged many Filipina micro-entrepreneurs at KMBI due to their distance from their local branches or partnered banks. With some partners living in far-to-reach areas across the country, it has been a hassle for them to travel and pay their dues.
Partners would have to spend as much as a day going to the main branch or deposit their payment through a KMBI-partnered bank and then return home. This consistent practice consumes a lot of time and transportation costs than focusing on their business. Several partners have even resorted to building a transportation fund where an assigned person would pay the group’s dues at the main branch.
BUx helped KMBI resolve the challenge of addressing late payments and achieve its goal by offering multiple payment options for its partners. These micro-entrepreneurs can now pay their dues in the comfort of their homes through BUx’s e-wallets option via Gcash or GrabPay. They can also now pay their loans through 50,000 over-the-counter branches such as 7-Eleven, Cebuana Lhuillier, Palawan Pawnshop, and many more, which is a favored option by many KMBI partners.
When it comes to increasing productivity and efficiency, particularly in accounting, the KMBI regional branches can simply monitor the incoming transactions through the BUx dashboard.
